Daria Miyeko Marinelli (Founder, Artistic Director)
Daria Miyeko Marinelli is an Austin based playwright and producer who seeks to reimagine the theatrical experience through innovative staging and inclusionary practices.
Her plays include The One You Feed, We are Samurai, I’d Rather Not Say, Done, After You, and Untameable. Her work has been staged and developed at Ensemble Theatre Studio, The Flea, Jimmy’s No 43, St. Paul’s Hall, 133rd Street Art Center, Access Theatre, Alchemical Theatre Laboratory, WOW Café Theatre, Standard Toy Kraft, Venus Theatre, Espacio Arévalo (Buenos Aires), The Arts Center (Carborro, NC), Production Workshop (PVD), Rites and Reason Theatre (PVD), and the McCormack Family Theatre (PVD). Her accolades include being a Finalist in Sanguine Theater Company’s Project Playwright, an Arnold Fellow, and a two-time recipient of the Weston Award in Playwriting. Ms. Marinelli has been published in various literary magazines including The Round, Clerestory, Bare Fiction, and Fourth-Wall Review. She is currently an MFA Candidate for Playwriting at the University of Texas in Austin.
As co-founder and artistic director of Marrow's Edge, a theater collective dedicated to creating work that draws from the canon and defies expectations, Daria produced We Are Samurai, Beatrice, and the 5-10 series, a quarterly installment of small intimate theater.
